I wouldn't confuse writing a blog with leading an organization - on the contrary, the trend these days is for organizations to let their interns do the blogging while the leaders do the leading. I've offered to set up a blog for the Burundians who lead HROC; they're too busy doing the actual work!
Re: your 2nd question - I'm not sure whether you mean geographic areas or other areas. HROC has expanded to Rwanda, Kenya, and DRC, and through the AVP network may be expanding outside of East Africa as well.

Your analysis makes a lot of sense. However, it begs another question. If HROC is so locally grounded, why does it need a foreigner like yourself to lead them? Where are the blogs from Africans?

Another question, how does HROC relate to work done in other areas of similar need?
