Being of a gana father and a tutsi mother from burundi, I can agree with you on most points but still have some reservations. Why were ganwa only allowed to marry only girls of the considered noblest tutsi blood ” the benengwe like my mum, the banyakarama, the banyagisaka, the bahondogo and bakundo like my grand mother, why were there noble tutsi families called the banyaruguru and the scorned “bahima”? why is it that it was a honour for a hutu to become a tutsi “kwihutura” and a disgrace for a tutsi to become a “hutu” meaning poorer? all this shows that there has always been a sense of social pride put on being a tutsi than a hutu, why?
